How to register safely on Binance or OKX
Step 1 of 6 · Updated: · 5 min read
Before you start
- You must be 18 or older and live in a country where the exchange operates. Check the availability box above — if a button is missing for your country, that exchange is not offered to you through this site.
- Have your own email address and phone number ready. Never use someone else’s details.
1. Use only the official website or app
Phishing sites that copy exchange login pages are the most common way people lose funds.
- Type the address yourself or use the link on this page. Do not click exchange links from DMs, SMS or ads.
- Install the app only from the official Apple App Store or Google Play listing published by the exchange. Check the developer name and review count.
- Bookmark the real login page and always use that bookmark.
2. Sign up through the referral link
Click the Sign up button on this page. It opens the exchange’s own registration page with our referral code already filled in. The referral is attached at registration — it cannot be added to an existing account later.
- On Binance you will see the referral ID field pre-filled on the sign-up form.
- On OKX the invite code is pre-filled on the sign-up form.
If the field is empty, stop and click the link again rather than typing a code from somewhere else.
3. Create a strong, unique password
Use a password you do not use anywhere else, ideally from a password manager.
4. Turn on two-factor authentication (2FA) immediately
Go to the security settings and enable an authenticator app (preferred over SMS). Write the backup key on paper and store it offline. Also consider:
- an anti-phishing code, so that genuine exchange emails show your personal code;
- a withdrawal address allow-list.
Safety checklist
- Exchange staff will never ask for your password, 2FA code or to “verify” your wallet via a link.
- No one can “speed up” registration or KYC for a fee.
- Never share your screen or install remote-access apps for “support”.
Next step: identity verification (KYC).
